new here

I don't know what im looking for, but i guess i was probably lonely. I feel no one can relate to me. I have been getting drunk everyday for a year. Oddly enough I don't experience any withdrawl, so its easy to just do it again the next day.

Hi and Welcome,

It's hard for other people to understand addiction, and that's why a lot of us are here.

We do understand.

Do you want to stop drinking?

I dont know if i want to stop. In the past few months ive noticed that there is an issue. Previously ive ignored it. I happy that atleast its still a major secret and it hasnt affected my family or work, luckily. The only person that knows is my roommate, she drops a hint here and there that my habits are excessive. Im not a jerk drunk, like drink and become violent or do stupid things. I mainly just come home after work at 8am and go get beer and drink and then sleep until work again until midnight. I know its adversely affecting my health, but at the same time I don't care. I dont know if im ready to stop, but I know what im doing is wrong, thats why I searched for a site like this.

Welcome You probably aren't experiencing withdrawals because you always have alcohol in your system, that would be my guess.

Welcome to SR!! I drank a lot while husband was traveling and I began because of being lonely too and then it was I was bored and then it was because because. It develops slowly over a period of time. I didn't have terrible hangovers or anything for a very long time, but really I gave it up for many reasons and one of them was I was sick of getting drunk night after night after night. Not really normal when I thought about it. Any ways, I can relate to your drinking. Glad you joined and even gladder (not really a word) you posted.

You are drinking each day...so your keeping x ammount
of alcohol in your brain and body.
That's why you don't have withdrawals IMO

Want to know what alcohol is doing to your brain?

Alcohol and Brain

I do hope you will consider quitting....
Welcome
