Whats the meaning of your avatar?
We have done user names here recently. And we have done avatars before.
I think it is very interesting to see why people picked the avatar they did.
I didnt post on the user name thread a couple weeks ago because I was all in a funk. So i will just add mine here.
chiynita means mixed asian girl in spanish. And that would be me. And thats what everyone called me in Florida.
My avatar thx to morning glory for fixin it so it stayed animated. Because that was the jkey to the whole thing.
No secret I love the ocean and love to sit by the water at night especially.
It is my place to go for peace of mind. Its where I use to go to forget about everything and just feel free, peaceful and safe.
I miss that so much I cant even stand it. I cant even really describe in words how much doing that makes me feel.
And the animation was so important becasue it is the wind blowing through my hair and the across y face and just all that ..that makes it that mcuh more meaningful.

Thanks for starting this Trish, it's nice to have a little fun around here and lighten it up for awhile.
I change mine often and try to keep it astronomy themed, my current avatar is an animation of an eclipse. One of these days I'll change it to that dog from the Jetsons cartoons and everyone can call me "Rastro", since most people think that's where my screen name comes from

I change mine all the time. First butterflies keeping with the "flutter" theme.. then pics of myself, once I got to a place to show my face and really be "me" and not ashamed anymore of where I've been, but I realized they were kinda old and prior to getting sober, so now.. well.. still me, goofy webcam smiley pics.. I smile all the time!

A smiling, happy, sober James Hetfield.
I like it and it's meaningful to me because it symbolizes the pure sober bliss of a man who did not always smile like that...he's my hero, my inspiration, and my role model for recovery. And when I see that face, and that smile, that's how I feel sometimes and I know that both James & I come from very similiar alcoholic pasts where genuine smiles, and happiness like that were once very hard to come by.

It's me. I think I always have my picture up because I have never felt like I have a voice, if that makes any since??? I put my picture up because I feel like if there is a name and face I will be seen and heard.

My screen name is from the many years that I felt like the Queen of Relapse. . . a nurse in the hospital where I went numerous times for detox actually called me the Queen of Relapse one time,as if I wasn't embarressed and ashamed enough. When I got my one year token (coin) while I was giving my Sponsor a hug after she said some beautiful things about me when she presented it to me, I whispered in her ear, "You may now call me Serenity Queen."
I just changed my avatar pic over the weekend. I'm trying to figure out what kind of tattoo I want to get as a gift to myself when (God willing) I reach my 4 years in July. It's a tattoo I drew up on a web site with my sobriety date in it.

Actually Suzette..I think on a board like this. Alot of people are really protective of their anonyminity..OMG...That was hard to even sound out to try and spell it. And I know I still didnt get it right.
Anyway...I think it shows alot of courage to reveal yourself like that. Seriously.
I always like to put a face with the names. It makes it a little more personable for me. But then I like to get to know everyone without knowing what they look like too because you get to know them for who they are and not what they look like. You know what I mean?

I like fanciful ladies, often from another era, so often my avatar reflects that. And I love hats, they remind me of my mother who had hers made by a milliner and she stored them each in a hat box with tissue. She wasn't wealthy, just of an era when ladies did that.
I change it often, just because it's fun and makes me smile.
