That's It, Im Done With Alchohol

Hi everybody, I've decided to join this forum because I cannot quit alcohol on my own. I have been living in denial to the fact that I am an alcoholic for about 3 years. I first started drinking heavily when I first went to college, we got smashed every weekend and any other day of the week that we got the chance to.

I finally ended up in a severe car crash on one of these wild weekends, because I was under the influence. Anyways yesterday was the worst for me. After an entire night of drinking I woke up feeling really down and depressed for drinking because the day before I promised myself that I was done with alcohol

I then realized that I need help with this and that is why I am here today, asking you guys to help me get through this because I really need to focus on my studies and when I drink my work falls way behind and my self confidence crumbles when I see everyone else succeeding while I'm just stagnating

:praying

Welcome to SR and to a new saner life. We all started our journey from your place. The only way I did it in the beginning was by changing my routines and even not hanging out with my Mom for a bit. She was my drinking companion. The great thing is she has stopped too now. I also did it hour by hour AND came on SR and posted. It can be done and this is coming from an every day drinker for most of my life.

Welcome to our forum.
If and when you get the urge to drink come here and post and someone will probably be here to talk you out of it.
It won't be easy but you can do it if you are determined.
I hope you learned your lesson about drinking and driving.
Good luck.

Thank you guys for all the supportive and inspiring posts, I know that with your guys help I can beat this thing once and for all. I've been struggling with the detox and the cravings for alchohol but as long as I'm in here posting I believe that it will go away.

I've been reading some of the stories of the other members and they are really awesome and give me lots of hope.

Thanks for gettin' back maggot. But I gotta say that name is just so self-deprecating. But hey, who am I to judge, I'm just a little plastic doll.

It's good to hear those positive words, keep it going now.

Hello, welcome.. This is a great site for help and support. I've tried many times to "take a break" or "cut back" drinking on my own.. Never worked out the way I wanted. But just in a week I feel 100 times better thanks to this site..
