I'm lapsing

Hi folks,

I'm getting drunk right now and I dont want to! It just happens! I'd love to chat with someone right now, but I've never used that function and it's difficult. Please just send me some strength...It's just so easy to slip. GRRRRRR...

I hope this kind of post isnt forbidden....I could really use some good sense from people who know what I'm going through.

Hi Olive, Im sorry to hear that you are drinking. Why not check out the chat room anyway, it is easy if you give it a shot. Just click on chat room and then "enter chat". There are people there and here who understand. Good luck to you :ghug3

Hi Olive

I spent a number of months glugging cava whilst reading on SR before getting sober. There are a lot worse places to be whilst drinking! Do you have a plan to give up, as in some sort of idea of how to start?

cheers

Olive,

Dump the alcohol and stay online and keep posting and reading.

We do understand and you can make the choice right now!

All of my booze is gone. The remaining booze doesnt belong to me and I cant deny folks who can actually drink responsibly their right.

I am done with my booze, and I dont plan on tapping into alcohol that doesnt belong to me.

I just feel so stupid....

ok-- I just took a shower, and now I'm gonna make some coffee and calm down/sober up...

It's just like one stupid thing... and then I get bananas. At least I'm catching myself before I get crazy? Does that count for something?

Thanks again to everyone for their quick posts...I'd be in dire straights without you all.

Many of us had false starts before we finally quit.

Please read these excerpts from the book that
got me into sobriety

http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...influence.html

You are not stupid or destined to drink forever...
Monday is a good day to begin sobriety

Drink lots of water and juice for a few days. B vitamins help also. Milk thistle is an herb good for detoxing the liver. Chamomile tea helps calm anxiety. You can do this. Just don't drink today.

Thanks everyone for all the advice and resources. I was able to stop last night before I went from "drinking" to "drunk." I'm just disappointed that I even tried to fool myself that I could have "just one glass." It's really cute/sad/funny that I let myself....as if I wouldn't know what would happen.

I'm taking some vitamins and heading to the gym later on tonight.

Least-- you always say "just don't drink today" and I find that mantra so helpful. I wont be drinking today.

thanks again everyone-- I gotta get back to work.

All the best,

olive

It's good to hear from you today Olive!

Least is right, focus on the moment. That's what we all try to do. It can be overwhelming to think beyond that.
