Celebrate Recovery

Just curious if anyone here has attended or is active in Celebrate Recovery? And what are your thoughts if you have?

I attended CR in early recovery, had a large group and I thought it was a wonderful program. I even tried a much smaller group and stuck with them for a couple months, I still think about those faces and how much they cared about me and supported me. But honestly, at that time I wasn't being honest with myself about having a God of my own understanding, much less any God at all in my life. It was hard to feel good about sharing in a Christian recovery program when I felt like all I had to share about God was lip service.

I went back to AA meetings because I felt like I belonged there, and there I've stayed. In the rooms of AA I came to believe in my God, so one of these days I'll probably go back to CR and see how I feel about it at this point in my recovery. It was a good experience years ago, I'm sure it can only be better now.
