Food for Thought by Paulos, I abide to four things...
This is an interesting topic, but here's what I abide to in my life...
#1 The Greater Being *God*
#2 Myself *Not my impulses*
#3 My Mother
#4 The government
#1 now mind you... I'm not like the psychopath who would get a possible mental hallucination and say "I gotta kill these people because god told me to", no way, if I had an IMAGE in my head that God was telling me to do something or something was out of control IN MY OWN HEAD I would check myself in to a hospital immediately for brain/nervous system testing... that's just how lawful I am, to not endanger people, unlike MANYYYY crazy people, zealots of religion and so on.
I did not mean to insult anyone's religions or views, I am just saying if I heard a voice in my head or begun seeing images of god/greater beings I would first have to question the scientific logic of it and my own brain waves... I'm sure plenty of people have said "Yeah I've talked to god, this and that" but those who say "God told me to do this, and god told me to do that"... I have to disagree, kind of like so many people from history who thought they heard god, for example, Joan of Arc.
Anyway, just thought I'd have give you that Food for Thought.

Good topic Paulos.
I abide by my own personal moral code. It is loosely based on " Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." and Treat everyone better than they treat you.
Sometimes I let my emotions get in the way of this and that is one thing I am working on since I became sober. I hate having a bad temper when things annoy me.

Everyone here knows how I feel about God...that's a given.
And honoring your mom..that is just great. I do too. My son is a "mama's boy."
Always has been, always will be.
The government..I pray for the leaders..a lot. I believe things will turn around.
