It's a good idea to start with talking to your dr. Detoxing from alcohol can be very dangerous.
Other than that, don't drink. Get rid of the alcohol in your house, change your daily routines and places that involve drinking and keep your mind open to a new life without alcohol.

I wouldn't be breathing if I hadn't done a medical detox.

Because of how dangerous withdrawal can be (fatal for some people!), it's usually advised to go the Doctor route first.. I dont' know much about narcotics, but I would imagine it wouldn't be a bad first step, get detoxed, then work on staying sober.

While at the VA Hospital one day, sitting outside having a smoke, I saw a guy fall off a chair and smack his head into the concrete. I rushed over to help, along with two guys who were with this guy and they told me he was detoxing off of meth and vicodin. Here he was at the hospital, and he still conked out while detoxing.
It's always good to see a doc if you can.

See a doctor for sure...if you can....im not sure how easy that is or how affordable...im in the uk.
Check out the posts on here.....you will see its full of people that have stopped using alcohol....drugs...or both..
This will help you to realize...IT IS POSSIBLE.
and while your checking those post........check out what these guys do to STAY..clean and sober...They will all have "their way"
Maybe na...aa...or some of the other programs available...or come to sr every day.
For me...i could stop..but i couldnt stay stopped without a program..

Get to an AA or NA mtg. every day.
Reach out and ask for help from people in the mtg.
Get a sponsor and work the program like your life depends on it, because it does.
Go to any length to get sober.
