I like this site very much so far, as I am a new member. I do think however that there should be a link to the site for people to have the numbers for AA or NA. Perhaps a 800 number or some sort of thing. If someone wants to go to a face to face meeting in their area, they can call those numbers. I have some helpful links if anyone is interested. It's just a suggestion, no one has to listen. I can give more info if needed.

However- The site is amazing, along with the chatrooms. 24/7 access to help, advice or just conversation is a wonderful thing.

I have an idea...

A section somewhere for people in monitoring programs, through their job, state, D.O.T., licensing boards, etc.... This is a special source of stress for those in imposed recovery programs... urine and other testing methods, ignition locks, EAP's, etc....

It should not be a place where people exchange ideas to manipulate the system though, just a place to get reassurance, etc...

I really don't understand why certain threads got locked. I've noticed that many people find locking threads for no reason is unnecessary. One of the threads I started that many people liked to participate in, whether they agreed or not, got locked.

Could one of you moderators unlock it and bump it for me?

There is already the 'online' button indicator by friends' names. It's green if they're online.

I think the site is great, but one thing I think would be a really good feature is to expand the friends and families sections.

We talk alot about codependency there and many are working on their recovery from this. The AA/NA etc members have their 'new to recovery' and their 'in recovery' type forums, so how about a 'Friends and family, IN recovery' forum where we can go to discuss specificly recovery from codependency and other issues we friends and family share like our own self image and confidence?

I would really like to see this added and feel this would allow the current F&F forum to be for new comers finding there way and open up space for in depth recovery discussions and sharing in the other forum.

On a glance, this site is biased heavily toward the addicts which I believe it was originally set up for (?) but with the population of the F&F ever growing, we should be given more room to explore our issues and recovery.

I'm probably too late on this one, but another member had a pretty good idea. Perhaps the Newcomers section could have some sub-divisions? Newcomers to addiction, Newcomers to friends/family of addiction, and newcomers to mental health issues, for example?

Oh yeah, and the search could be a bit better.

You should let 51Anna know asap, that is her forum.
She'll take care of it.
