the days are soooo long!

oh my goodness the days go sooo slowly, hello everybody, this feels abit weird, but hey here i am. day 2 kind of. well i had done aweek up till sunday and wham, had to go pay a debt to my dealer and used, gutted! so here i am feeling like **** again, my girlfriend uses this site as a family member to an addict, me. she thought it would be agood idea to come on here and share, so i am, cant watch anymore t.v. my eyes have gone square. why are the days just so long, i didnt get out of bed till one, only 5 hours ago and i feel like i have been awake for about 24 hours, but on the bright side, every hour that passes is a step closer to feeling more normal in a few days time. how do u get one of those smilly faces up?

Welcome to our SR family.

Ur girlfriend has done a good
thing by sharing this site with
you. Not only is she helping
herself, but is also helping
you because she cares about
you and what happens to you.
Right?

It will take one day at a time
for the fog to clear from ur
head. It did me when i was
in rehab for 28 days.

Sure the time may seem to
slow down even crawl but
in time things will eventually
become somewhat normal.

To get things back into focus
may mean doing healthy activities.

You maybe a runner, or work out
with weights, bowling...lol find
what ur good at and exercise and
sweat out all those impurities.

Drink lots of water, protein shakes,
and eat well balanced meals.

Stay away from people places
and things that deal with drugs
or alcohol. For me all that is POISON.

Find someone u know in recovery
and hold onto their coat tails
for awhile. They have the key
to learning how to stay clean
and sober and will gladly share
their experiences, strenghts
and hopes with u.

Learning the Serenity prayer
by heart is what i did so that
i could say it anytime i feel
the urge to drink or to calm
me down.

Thanks for letting me share.

Hi and Welcome,

I'm glad you joined us!

It might help if you remember that stopping drinking is just the beginning. Now is the time to open yourself up to changes in your life. I believe that balance in recovery is really important. Try taking some time to do some kind of physical activity, spend a little quiet time, maybe meditating. You will begin to feel better as time goes by.

Faegin, SOOO GLAD YOU'RE HERE!!!!

Okay, after posting -- click on the smile face on your bar (or whatever it's called) just above this box -- scroll down to the character ya want then click. To do a smiley face like this "".... make a colon then a paranthesis (I don't know if I spelled that right...).

Tell me if this works for you....K?

Glad you're here! It's hell going through the initial detox and first few days clean/sober. Once you get thru to the other side, you will feel SSSOOOOOO much better! I was just there and now am feeling great and life is happening all around me!

Be good to you! Drink lots of h2o, eat what ya can, take vit B's, stretch your muscles and stay on here where you're with a bunch of new friends, K?!! We all pull for eachother and that's how WE stay sober! xoxox

Welcome Faegin
I spend a couple of hours here a day posting, reading, and annoying people. It is a good way to keep busy.
I will also suggest exercise to keep you occupied. I go to the gym for 3 hours a day also.
You have to change the bad habit of using with good habits that interest you.
Having said that I spend way too much time watching boring TV also.
