A couple years ago I was in the same position as you are now Penny. I had gone 4 months sober and couldn't imagine a life without a few drinks. I quit quitting and started drinking again and now I am back here with just over a month sober because I couldn't do the drink once in a while thing.
What I didn't get the first time and hopefully will this time is that I have to replace the drinking with other activities that are just as pleasurable and I have to make the effort to find these activities.
I think you owe it to yourself to try this first because drinking wasn't working for you.
Don't drink again until you give this a good chance.

I'm new, but I just wanted to tell you to be strong. Pour it out, go to bed and don't buy anymore. The guilt is not worth it. Your family may never find out, but you will know and cause you to be more depressed. Hence, the vicious cycle. Good luck and hugs to you!
