I'm 5'4", 129 lbs. (not 130!) I actually weighed prob 165 at my most bloated worst, but I went completely vegan 2 years ago and lost the weight quickly. I've held steady since then. I'm hoping I'll lose a little more now that I'm saving all those calories. I won't eat anything with animal products, so that limits what I eat. Which I'm thankful for because that rules out pizza, cookies, fast food, etc.
And I'm 44

Maybe there is such a thing as a Pelicow. Wow. The unnatural beautiy of it all. Can it soar over salted water? Can it stand motionless for hours and only blink once?

Truly, a coastal varmit that munches on sea grass and regularly enjoys the feel of sinking up to her knees in pluff mud!

Is there such a thing as Pelicow tipping? Or what about Pelicow pies? What does Pelicow milk taste like, seawater?

I have been on the Adkins diet for 3 weeks now and I think I lost some weight but I am afraid to weigh in. I am training for a 26 mile marathon so I know some weight has come off. I am really sick of being a big fat athlete alcoholic. I work out, I eat, I work out, I eat. Well, it used to be I work out, I drink beer!!!! I will weigh myself next week and see what is up. Hopefully my big fat ass will be gone!

I think you have to consider different personality types, Jules. I struggle to find it in myself to be serious about anything and posts like this make me feel more at home. I love to laugh and appreciate you guys, so much! I also think showing your flaws helps us feel better about ourselves, too.

It's not a friendship board, as you say, but I choose to hang out with you because we have a common goal and we can inspire and encourage one another. You're my buddy, dang it, whether you want to be or not!

Hi All,

I am 55 and weigh 140 pounds. I have always been a skinny rake and hated it most of my life - now I get to reap the benefits. I used to get names like "Lucky" (lucky you dont snap in half) "Rattles" -(self explanatory) "Stick Girl", "Bones". When I was pregnant I was called "A piece of string with a knot in it "Get my drift? It's in my "jeans" !!! Lol
I love your post bovine.

I actually gained a lot of weight when I quit drinking... Beer has a lot of calories, but I was pretty much not eating so I was down to 170 or so. I'm a 5'8", 23-year-old woman. (Yes, I am "big-boned" ... in the literal sense! My 63-year-old mom has the bone density of a 20-year-old, so it runs in the family. 170 is skinny on my frame.) Now I'm up to around 210, which is an all-time high for me. I've always had a problem with binge-eating, and it's gotten worse since I quit drinking. I'm going to start spinning at my school gym and try to lose 30 pounds or so.

Even if I don't lose the weight, I'd rather be a fatty than a lush.

Okay... I can't believe I am replying to this... but 47 yo female, 5'8" 173 lbs, down from 195 last fall....with approximately 30 more pounds I'd like to drop. Wine was my DOC but I definitely developed a "beer belly" - not pretty... I can't say focusing on my sobriety has helped my weight as I find I am rewarding myself more with sweet treats... but I am sober to exercise which helps.. I am trying to follow the ZONE diet-I really feel great when I am following it strictly... oh, and not drinking!! Still struggling with the latter...

I gained 60 pounds in the course of a year from drinking. I went from 5'7, 130 pounds to 190 pounds. I have lost 20 and am at 170. I was talking to my Mom about my weight and she was like big deal what you weighed 150 at your heaviest and I laughed and she didn't even believe me that I weigh 170 until I showed her the scale. Same reaction from my sisters.

I'm tall.

Like 6'9.

When I was at my heaviest and most drunken, I was 275 lbs.

Since I quit drinking and started eating better, I'm down to a consistent 250.

Good weight for my height and no disgusting beer gut & bloated face anymore.

This funny.

5'1 1/2 "

Usually tiny...

BP meds shot me up to a glorious 202 a year and a half ago..long blonde hair.

My family nicknamed me.."Saly Struthers"..

I didn't think it was funny at all!!!!! Even though she does many good works.

A life change.. a change of meds.. a change in my program..

Now..well, let's just say..

I'm curvy.

And am not carrying as much baggage..64 lbs. worth.
