Well - this is certainly a new topic...since I read it, I may as well share.

I am 6'0" 176 lbs (sometimes 178, sometimes 174)...34 years old (35 is right around the corner..ugh). I am what most would consider "active" - I still participate in sports (surf, hockey, snowboard). At the height of my drinking and sloth I was 215 pounds..took awhile to get that off.

Righto...ok me embarrassed to write/say this out loud....This is one of "life's biggest RISKS" for this Kitty! I am 5.5, almost 52 yrs old (in May) and weight 143 pounds. Arrrrrrrrrggh...still 20 over weight and have LOST 22 pounds since I quit drinking as of today which is "weigh in day" for me each week. I am pleased at what I've lost so far and at the beginning in January it was a fast about six pounds and now it's been NO cheating and a rigid healthy diet. Once Spring arrives I will be out walking so that will help mentally and physically...

"LovinmeNow" this is a truly excellent idea for us alkies in that it's a HUGH risk for MOST of us to take...Interesting how "Honesty" surfaces once we rid our lives of the booze!! Thank you for starting a super awesome idea on SR and I hope everyone continues to post weekly so we can watch how great and fabulous all of our PROGRESS is over the next six months to a year!

I'm 21 years old, 6'2" weigh about 180/185 lbs.

At my worst, right before I went into prison I was 60 pounds lighter, at about 125. I was very sick looking. Prison was good for me, in that there were regular meals, and a weight room, although I wasn't clean by any means, I did put on a good 25 pounds. When I got clean, I added the rest by again- eating food and spending a lot of time in the gym. Today I'm pretty happy with that.

I am short and round, but I've been rounder:P Last year I lost 50#s on weight watchers while I was still drinking. Ive lost 6# since I quit. I am pretty happy now, although a weight chart would still call me way over weight.

i'm 5'10 and weigh 110 pounds. i'm 25 years old. i need to gain some weight, "they" say. i do have to watch and make sure i don't slip into cross addiction, replacing alcohol with an eating disorder. this worries me a bit, to be frank.

I am 43, 5' 6" and quite curvy, I avoid scales like the plague, I am about a size 14. I have always been considered "farm stock" . I feel good in my skin though, sober and healthy. I wasn't a skinny drunk either, at least today I remember what I ate!!!

24-years-old, 5'3-5'4, about 150 lbs...all them whiskey and beer calories...wouldn't think that much by looking at me....but PM me and ask for my myspace and maybe I'll be nice and show off my fugly pics. lmao

When I quit drinking 1/16 to a week ago Sunday, I ran and worked out EVERY day! Lost weight fast and didn't eat crapola, a lot of chocolate though at night (but that's not crapola...a neccessity!). Alot can happen in 12 days of drinking though.... eat, drink, eat drink then just drink. Not steppin' on the scale for at least a week!
