my wifes day

today is valentines day........my wifes day..

to tell her i love her..........to bits and more every day.

I love her today because of the person she is...and as i get further into my journey i realize what lovely people i have in my life..

This woman jumped through hoops to help me get sober after returning to drinking numerous times..

She sat with me when i was very sick and all i could think about was myself.

She put up with her purse being raided and me going missing for days on end.

Every year sober she buys me a firework and we go light it on the beach in the evening.......maybe fireworks remind her of my drinking..lol

I love this woman dearly and more every year..

Being sober has opened my eyes to the person she is......and how lucky i am that she shares her life with me.

tonight was a great night.....chinese take out...big logfire and five gooseberrys in the shape of dogs...lol..lol.

Im sharing this cos.........i dont know.....its just fanstatic to be sober and to be with alison.

happy sober valentines day..............trucker

Great Trucker. Thanks a lot. I love my hubby but he's not setting off fireworks for me. In fact, today he's skiing and tonight we're going to dinner at a chain restaurant with the kids in tow.

So, thanks. I officially hate you now.

My wife is not into Valentine's Day, thank god, but I can tell you one present she was happy to get today, a sober husband.

A lovely share, trucker. I'm sure your lady is so happy she never gave up on you, and that she held on tight to your love.

Trucker, this is a wonderful post and I'm glad you get to share this special day with your wife. You are very fortunate. And I'm sure she is very happy to have you sober and spending the day with her if nothing else. While I'm divorced and not looking at least I get to spend my valentine's day on here with you and all the other great people here so at least I can so for once in my life I'm not alone. But, once again Trucker, beautiful post and I'm glad you and the wife enjoyed the day. Nice to see such a positive and beautiful post.

With reflection.....this post may seem that i trip around with my wife on a pink fluffy cloud all the time feeding each other grapes...and polishing each others halo.

Life isnt like that......and we have had difficult times.

i wanted to share that the more i stay sober the more i appreciate what ive got in my life....rather than what i havent got...

the lifting of the blinkers if you like....happy with my "lot" rather than discontent all the time.

i also wanted to post a positive thread......

I only used to see in black and white...these days its colour.

most days..lol...lol.............trucker.
