from "how it works" the BIG BOOK of A.A. page 60 (second edition) "the principles we have set down are guides to progess. we claim spiritual progress rather than spiritual perfection.. when i start thinking i'm not doing GOOD enough it's ALWAYS good to keep in mind!

I think many of us are too critical of ourselves.

I know I can be like that.

It's a good idea, when you feel like that, to stop and take a realistic look at how far you've come at that point.

Definitely important to remember! I am very hard on myself, beginning to learn to give myself a break and maybe even a virtual pat on the back, who knows by the end of the year i may even give myself a virtual hug???!!!!!

yeahgr8: that's why i posted this thread.. i'm also GUILTY of being too hard on myself too often! (*also at the top it should say PROGRESS!)

Thats a great thing to remember. I needed that today. I wonder how I will do tonight at my 1st hockey game not drinking, and everyone I am going with will be!
