Ok.... I'm not directly from Ireland, but all my ggrandparents on both sides were! Does that count? They were from the north, around Belfast.

There's gotta be somebody on SR from Ireland eh? They'll show up, I'm sure....

I'm Polish, German, and Norwegian, so I feel I was born to drink just like a good Irishman

Hello from a fellow AA'er!

Hi and welcome!
When I joined SR - which is how I finally understood that I was an alcoholic and AA could save my life! - I was living in Ireland> I was there for 8 years, now 3 years back in South Africa. Both beautiful countries and it's great to be home - but Ireland really is very very special. I love visiting there. It's a wonderful magical place. It would've been nice to be sober for more of the time there, but at least I've got to enjoy it in sobriety as well!

Welcome nelco

Best wishes to your husband.

I'm not from Ireland but just over the water from you in Scotland.

We got the ferry from Stranraer over to Belfast at New Year there for a week.

Had a great ( and sober ! ) time.
