I guess it depends on the person. I drink it when I'm at a restaurant or out around others that are drinking. It really helps me. It's not good enough for me to just break one open when at home by myself. Basically, it helps me socialize.
At home. I always drank beer at home actally while I crocheted on Saturday's. I'm not going to a bar. I just keep drinking one soda after another. It's the habit. I was at the point today where I was telling myself I could have just two beers. That's why I'm asking.
O'Douls is an NA Beer made by Buttwiper. For some, it makes them crave the real thing even more. For me, it's always had the opposite effect. I drink them on occasion, usually at home, because they charge too much for them out on the town.
I think it's too much about the ritual.
I was a wine-drinker and I tried alcohol-free wine once. It was the process of opening the bottle and using the wine glasses, which was wrong for me. It felt wrong.

It just makes no sense to me as it would just remind of the real thing too much.
I wouldn't smoke a joint that didn;t get me high either, if I was a heroin addict I wouldn't inject myself with water, if I was a pill head I wouldn;t take sugar pills.

If I drink alcohol...I will re start my time of sobriety.
The N/A beer I know of does have alcohol...
regardless of what ammount.
This subject goes round and round very often on here...
Some will tell you OJ and vanilla extract have alcohol.
That's true. I don't drink them either.
Some members drink the N/A beer and think themselves in recovery.
I could not do that.

Before anyone says it.. yes, I do pay escorts just to cuddle...
O'douls has a slight percent per volume of alcohol..it takes of the edge...but it still has alcohol in in and will most definitely lead back to drinking...
I have tried fooling myself with it before,
Good Luck,

i find that very difficult to understand..............but each to there own.
But then again i find the normal drinker very difficult to understand...
What is the point if you aint gonna get wrecked.......
My wife says she likes the taste...........weird..
She says "i dont like the feeling of getting drunk".....weird.
So the thought of me drinking something that looks like booze....smells like booze but aint alcohol...........sounds like a horrible form of torture.
BUT i do understand that not everyone thinks like me...lol
All you chocolate addicts out there......how about some sugar free chocolate.
lol...lol.............trucker

It has so little alcohol, it won't stop you from starting a car that is equipped with an alcohol sensing interlock. If it takes the edge off, I would suggest that it is purely psychological.
it's a movie, you're the star

my grandfather drinks them LOL
although your clean time is FANTABULOUS, you really don't have enough to be making a big decision - such as drinking something oh so similar to beer (in my opinion) if you really need to drink to be part of a group, change your group.
i personally wouldn't want to drink any nonalcoholic beverage - what's the point? hah but thats just me!

The first time I tried it was about 6 weeks into recovery. It triggered major cravings which led to a 3 day binge / blackout. I did not even know what day it was. Now, after a year clean I can drink it without the trigger. Just wait awhile.
