Howdy, and congrats on your two years!

My first exposure to AA was in 1986.

HELLO 24hrsAday, You left in 98 and I joined aa same year. I find the twelve steps of aa great and as long as I keep trying to pratice "principles before personalities" I find I do ok. 2 years is a long time, we are all only an arm's lenght away from a drink...take care and be good to yourself.

WELCOME TO SR from a southern neighbor! You've got a lot of neighbors on here! lol

I was also one of those people who bounced in and out of the Program but this time, I've been back since July 25, 2005 and life couldn't be better. Sure, I've had a lot of things happen in the past 3 1/2 years but nothing that I felt it necessary to use over. Glad you found us!

Judy

Lovely post....i realized quiet early that i couldnt manage my life without a program..

Stopping drinking wasnt enough...........id just act like im drinking and i believe i was slowly going insane..

Dont get me wrong........i tried it.........just dumping at meetings and going home and doing nothing.

And guess what............i went drinking.

I needed not just to get away from booze...........but also get away from me.

I needed to change me..............and i am........one day at a time.

With the help of god.......aa.....sr.......and some other stuff i do.

For me i needed to be at peace with myself..........i dont despise myself anymore.

Good luck with it.........let me know how your doing........trucker

Glad you're here

Got a question for you!!

Are there any members in your home group that were there back in 89 or in 98?

I tend to pay close attention to the people that, have stayed in AA and have gotten several 24 hours in.

Glad, you made it back

Hello 24, and welcome to SR!

I hope I always feel like a baby in AA, I'm just an arm's length away from my next drink too.
