Agreed.
Day 2 for me. Last night was physically terrible--but emotionally wonderful. I spent a good 2-3 hours talking to my girlfriend about my drinking problem. It was liberating, good, and it felt wonderful to finally admit out loud that drinking was the source of a lot of strife I've caused myself and loved ones.
It was a small step--but it is making today easier.
Good luck jowinbo.

Hey now, We are on Lucky 13! Don't throw that away!
I can understand being apprehensive to talk to a counselor of any kind, which is why I won't go to them anymore. Just not comfortable with them.
But there are good ones out there, that should be able to get things going & help you talk aout somethings. Just be as honest as you can.

Good Luck!

Jowinbo—

I would go into your therapist and tell her/him about this board and then tell her/him what you just posted about being scared, not knowing what to talk about with her/him and wanting to say you are just fine even though you are not. I guarantee that that will get you off to a great start.

I was thinking along the lines of sfgirl too. Maybe you could print your post about today and just show it to your therapist as a start to the conversation. A good therapist will likely know where to lead you from there. Good luck and be honest.

Hi.
I'm not sure if you have already been to your appointment (cant work out time zones) but i really struggle talking about how i feel with my therapist.
So, a couple of weeks ago she said she wanted me to write down what was happening etc and bring it with me.
Maybe you could try as has been said, printing off what you have posted or writing something down.
I did it with my doctor too.
Maybe thats why i find it easier on these boards too.
Good luck tho

Be well
