Class of February *2009* Well I started on the 31st, so I'll be the first one in the class today. I have a lot to be thankful for. 1. It's Not TOO late. I am so glad I am not in jail or on my death bed, before I decided to get sober. All of us here, together we will make a February to Remember. Love to all... |
Hardwired - I'm with you. A basketball game last week and the Superbowl did me in (do I see a common thread?!). On the positive side, I didn't drink 14 days in January. There hasn't been a day in the last few years that I didn't drink. I'm looking to go at least 7 days and hopefully many, many more - starting yesterday. JT |
Someone else mentioned this so I thought I would bring it forward for all that are starting in February to have a place to hang your hat. A similar thread for the class of January has been a meeting place for all that joined then and helped us all immensely. So all those joining in Feb here is your class thread. |
Day 2! February sounds like a great month to being the rest of our lives guys. |
Day 3 here so guess I should be here too. Hello All :ghug |
Day 3 for me, so here I am..x |
Day one for me. I will be checking in hopefully positively! |
Working on day two for me. Joined this place yesterday afternoon on Feb 5 '09...so guess I'll throw myself in on this thread and hope and pray that we can all get through this together. This site and reading my bible the past two days of being sober has been a blessing to me. Thank you all and thank God for my decision to sober up and try to achieve a better healthy life. *holds up water bottle* Cheers to all who's drinking plenty of water with me! |
I'll drink to that Wes! (My tea)! Day 5 for me. Keep checking in guys, and we can do this. |
Haha we should get class of February 2009 water bottles. Or tea mugs for you Wombat. :nana: |
Water bottles, tea and coffee mugs, and t-shirts backporch! lol |
haha i'm 25 but i look very young. if i walked around in a class of 2009 t-shirt, people would legitimately think i just graduated high school. haha. |
I understand that. Unfortunately I'm the opposite. I'm 24 and people assume I'm in my 30's. I suppose that is one negative affect of alcohol on me from all the years I spent drinking. But, glad to finally be sober. Keep it up and maybe I can have my life back. :lmao |
what exactly is it from the alcohol that makes you look older if you don't mind me asking? i know that i've gotten quite a few wrinkles from smoking, but i don't think drinking affected me physically at all. at least not externally....except maybe a few scars here and there from those fall down drunk nights. |
Hey class, today will be day 7 for me and I feel great, the lesson today is well check out my sig. |
Hi All, Well done everyone.:You_Rock_ Day 4 for me and I'm so wrapt.:ValB005: Yes to the class of February. Luv you all. :nyd |
Poet-- I've mostly noticed my skin change. It's kind of ashen, and blotchy in spots on my face, near my cheeks. I've always had a somewhat darker complexion than most, but it's lightened considerably from loads of drinking. A positive however, after just 5 days of NOT drinking, my eyes are clear, and just seem...brighter. |

Backporch, maybe it wasn't the alcohol...but that was just an assumption...maybe it's just some people look older than what they are and some look younger...not sure what exactly it could be and I don't mind ya asking at all. Wes |
Day 8 for me yeah!!!! where are you class? |
