Question Feeling really nervous

I am feeling really nervous right now, I guess it could be consider anxious as well. I don't know why I feel like this though. Anyone feel like this for no reason right after they haven't been drinking? only on day 3 here myself...

See, early in recovery, while my brain was trying to heal that was a very common feeling for me, often, right out of the blue, as well as a lot of anxiety.
It does get better.

Yes, anxiety is a very common feeling in early recovery.

It takes time for your body, mind and spirit to adjust to not drinking.

Keep reading and posting.

Yes, I felt like that early on. Simplest thing that helped me? Taking a hot shower and staying there until the hot water literally ran out, reciting the serenity prayer as I did this.
It's a horrible feeling but will lessen as times goes by.

You know what? It isn't nervousness...I feel restless! That makes more sense. That is what I am feeling. I have ADHD and I am sure not drinking is making me feel it more than usual.

It's totally normal; to mitigate it, I did yoga, breathing exercises, walked the dog, etc.

Nervous, anxious, could not be in my own skin. Alot of people have mentioned that excerise helped, tea, find a project. Personally, I had to just find a place, hide (away from the hubby, as not to hurt him - ha ha) and basically not move until it passed - usaully with a book or a movie.

On day three, even though I was medicated and in detox, my emotions were bouncing off the walls! Your moods are more than likely going to run like a rollercoaster, this is completely normal!

Ok, you're restless . . . find something to keep you busy. Why, I know this great website for Addicts and Alcoholics, it's called Sober Recovery. There's always a bunch of people on line who . . . . oh, yeah. lol Just bein silly here.

Have you been to any AA Meetings yet?

The shower thing (I alternated between hot and cold - it shocks the system a little) and the tea idea both worked wonders for me in early recovery.

AA did it for me after that.

Although I don't have a prob with alcohol, I still relate to anxiety. Sometimes it's almost crippling - I start to tremble and grit my teeth, etc. In conjunction with a prescribed medication for this, I grab my security blanket (yes, I have one) and wrap up in it like a mummy and lay down and breathe with my eyes closed. In with the positive and out with the negative. A lot of times, before I know it I fall asleep.

The hot shower sounds great too. Baths have helped me tremendously. I have quite the bath salt / shower gel collection so I never get bored lol.
