Hi Felly,

I'm sorry that happened.

Do you have a plan to help you get through this?

doorknob 02-01-2009 08:48 AM

Felly, you're not totally ******, just a little ******. :) I've been through this a few times, most recently in Washington State. Feel free to PM me.

hello,
I think a few of us here have gotten DUI's. I got one last year and was feeling the same way you are feeling right now. I thought my life was over, I thought I had screwed up everything and it would never be right again. I am still dealing with the consequences of my choices and actions, but it does get easier. You will get through this, your life will keep going and in the end you will probably not be as "screwed" as you think. This really could be the end of your old life and the beginning of your new life without drinking...it took me a long time after I got my DUI to actually start thinking about how much drinking has affected my life and even then it took me a long time after that to even try to quit. I wish you the best and we are here for you. I will be praying for you...

Oh Honey!!!!
I am so sorry! And all I can say is I can so relate! You must not have had to go to jail if your home already. I had to spend 2 days in jail after mine because of my BAC.

I am in the middle of my mess right now & can only say I feel for you so much. I know how you feel like you are totally F'ed!

I lost so much as a result & thought for many nights I didn't know how or even want to go on. I hope because you are already a memeber here & have our support, you stay here, get the support you so deserve.

Is this your 1st? You will be in my prayers. Please PM if you want as I am sure you are going through s much.
Take Care, God Bless!

It might be the message you need to hear.

(Who am I talking to? You. Me. Everyone.)

Fubarcdn 02-01-2009 09:16 AM

I am so sorry for you Felly.
I too am one of the ones that got a DUI and because of it I lost a good paying sales job and my license for a whole year. I though it was the end of the world and vowed to quit drinking forever.
Sad to say I did not learn my lesson and although I have not driven while drinking since after 3 months sober I did go back to drinking and continued to do so until this month.
That was 20 years ago.
Get back on the wagon and don't do what I did and wait 20 years do it today.
We are all here for you. :ghug

Oh bummer!......I had a DUI about 3 years ago, not fun but you will survive it. I am really sorry you are feeling awful. Take care of you, we are here if you need us!

Maybe a year from now you'll be thankful... it's quite a message.

Glad you didn't hurt anyone, or yourself (I'm assuming...). You can get through this, new choices, new found strength, a minute at a time :)

KenL 02-01-2009 09:40 AM

The first thought that comes to my mind is at least you didn't kill anyone. Be thankful for that much at this early date succeeding your slip.

Toomutch 02-01-2009 09:44 AM

Felly - I wish I could take you in my arms and give you a big hug. I'm assuming nobody was injured... All you can do is get back up on that horse and know that you're loved.

Rowan 02-01-2009 09:47 AM

It could have been much, much, worse, as others' have suggested.

This could be a gift, Felicia. It's all in how you look at it.

Are you ready?

Thinking of you my friend.

TryingSoHard 02-01-2009 09:50 AM

I'm sorry to hear that, felly.

It may not be much consolation, but as the postings have pretty much stated, a lot of us have been in your shoes and WE relate. I know I have, and your posting brought back some of the emotions you have now...it sucks.

I'm so sorry it happened. Get some wise counsel and guard your thoughts.
Love and hugs.
Michael

This is some good solid advice. If you can afford legal counsel get it and if not perhaps there is a legal aid system there like there is here.

Sorry this happened, but maybe this is the 'bottom' you needed to reach to make a final turn-around. Good luck!
