Hey Suze - I am at the tail end of the same thing....sinus infection, lung inflammation, endless coughing, and a new doctor telling me to take Nyquil!!!!!! EEK! I guess my regular doc's notes on my drinking history were fairly minimal or maybe because it's soooo far back in my history now, the covering doc. didn't read it - LOL!!! Anyway, being sick and being a mom rarely go hand in hand very smoothly, but try to get some rest and so use the vicks and get some chicken soup going there girl! I'll be praying for you...when I am not coughing! LOL Love ya, Jomey

Jomey - Sorry to hear you have the same dang thing... It begins to get depressing after awhile.
Nyquil... Yikes!

Bam- Thanks for the well wishes.

Chi - Yes, sometimes it seems like one thing after the other... I'm glad that my husband is here helping out - he even came home early today

Still sick - I can't even get up and walk across a small room without going into a coughing fit. I have lost 5 more lbs, I am really starting to get concerned.
Thanks for continuing to listen to my whining...

That's horrible. I hope you feel better real soon!

One thing you might want to look into is water fasting.
Look it up on Google. Although it may seem fairly extreme,
it is actually good for us to flush out the junk and toxins
once in awhile.

I'm on day 3 now, and although I don't feel too energetic
right now, by tomorrow morning or the next, I'm going to
feel like a million bucks.

All the best!

Thanks for the suggestion Sobrietyseeker

A water fast sounds like a good idea for removing the toxins from the body. I'm just not sure if that is what this illness calls for. I have been drinking alot of water, but I feel like my body need nutrients at this time as well.

Hi

Sorry to heat your still not feeling well today.

My mum has had a viral infection for the last couple of months. She had to take a few courses of antibiotics, i think it took 4 to get a head on it.

I can understand the worry. We were worried about her too.
Things just seem longer to clear nowadays.

Hang in there though, it will get better. Maybe a trip back to the doctors is an idea.

Take care though and take it easy

Be well

Thanks Toomutch.

I just thought of something else you could try.
My sister is a severe asthmatic and i just remembered what used to help clear/ease her chest was to have a kettle next to her and we just kept boiling it.... basically the steam helped and also i dont know if you have this where you live but menthol crystals. You place afew in boiling water and inhale it (best to do it under a towel so the steam of the crystals doesnt escape) this works well too. Just a warning with this tho is to keep your eyes shut while doing it. we used to do it when we were younger and it stings the eyes like buggery.......It does help though.

Sorry my mind seems to be racing at the moment with ideas...
Just tell me to shut if im going on and not making sense....I promise i wont be offended!!!

I hate being sick. Just hate it.

This is the first year I haven't got my yearly January sinus infection....I keep waiting for it to happen!

Hope you feel better, soon. I agree...get to a doc. Even if they can't do anything but tell you to wait 3 more weeks, that'll make you feel better.

Louis - I would never tell you to shut up - I appreciate your concern. I am getting a pot on to boil now. I do have vicks menthol liqid for the humidifier. I wonder if I could put that in the pot... I also have spearment oil.

Coffeenut - It's good to know that you havn't come down with any nasty viruses. I will go into the doc on Monday, if he says wait 3 more weeks, I just might smack him.

(((Suzette)))

awww, sweetie, I'm sorry you're sick!! If you need some help smacking your dr., call me I get bronchitis every time I get a cold (because I haven't quit smoking). I drink a ton of water and eat lots of chicken noodle soup with TONS of garlic. Since you're already drinking the water, maybe try some gatorade or powerade, since at least it has the vitamins and stuff?

I do know, some bronchitis is resistant and takes a few rounds of antibiotics. I know you feel bad that you have no energy, but you really do need the rest and this is just your body telling you that. Remember, you have chronic health problems, too, and you have to take care of YOU!!

You're not weak, you're not a failure as a mom or wife, you're just SICK!! So it takes longer for you to get over it....give yourself a break! Give yourself permission to be sick and take care of Suzette. I know it sounds silly, but I was an RN for 12 years and I took care of a lot of people who didn't have time to be sick...guess what? Didn't matter...they got sick anyway.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy
