A good end toa bad day

Hi

I posted a thread the other day asking how to find a balance. Well i think i found some peace today.
I got loads of great advice here over the couple of weeks iv'e been coming here from you guys and i wanted to say thank you. :ghug
The greatest was about taking it easy, especially in early recovery..
I wanted to write something positive also.
Well today I finished work at 9am, got home and had to try and write more of an assignment that has to be in for Friday (post tomorrow). The assignment is in 2 parts.
I wrote a little bit. Had to go out for work meetings that took 4hrs and then up to my mates to finish my assignment (she was helping me with it). My mates husband was going to buy alcohol and asked if i wanted some, i said no. He asked again, again i said no. So i sat at my mates while her and her husband had quite a few drinks. My mate helped me type up what i needed to do on the computer. we pressed save and nothing. We cant find it. IT'S GONE. Spoke to her daughter who said its in "cyberspace" somewhere.
We then sent a email off to my uni tutor to have to ask for an extension (reason being cyberspace is holding part of my assignment to ransom)!!!!

Usually i would be a nervous wreck and hitting the bottle.
Tonight all i can do is laugh, i actually don't really give a f*** and i'm going to bed soon and am still 10 days sober. I didn't cave.

Sorry this was so long winded but i wanted to share and again to say thank you.

Good for you!!!! I had a similar experience over the blown headgaskets in my truck lately..... I didn't really "laugh" but I didn't stress over it AND I didn't cave! Actually met some new friends through the experience! Sobriety is cool, huh?

Congrats on Day 10! Awesome! Hugs, Nicki:ghug3

Thank you guys.

I really appreciate the support i have gotten here. Even just reading gives me the support i need sometimes.

I said when i stopped drinking that i would never drink again and i have realised i have put too much pressure on myself. As i have been told by many here and elsewhere its just today that i am not drinking that is important. I will deal with tomorrow when it comes.
THATS what got me through last night.
So again thank you.

Be well all

I hear you louis - The one day at a time thing get more meaningful every day - I did not take it too seriously at first but it has saved my b*** a few times. Still do think toward the future, but that is only in the times I am feeling really secure..
