Smile Roasting

Its mid-summer here in Australia and in Victoria we are in the middle of a heat wave.

In Melbourne today the tempature will reach 43Cent or 110F and people will be huddle in Air Con offices and sipping cool drinks.

I got up early to hunt for jobs and then will go to the gym and visit friends later while making some calls and looking for work.

The only drink I will be having today is water water water and oh joy what a blessing that is and how free that makes me feel.

I am daily grateful for my clean time and for the support I am given in so many different ways.

Kevin

Do you have a spare bedroom? I'm bookin' the flight! 3 degrees here in Tahoe this morning (a lot colder in other parts of the USA- burrr)!

Congrats on your C&S time! We can do this thing!

Hey nogard,
Watched the Assie open last night, Roddick vs. Jokovic. It was 146 degrees on the court!! The match started out at 136 then went to 146!! I would be melted like the wicked witch. Jokovic retired and Roddick did not look like the heat bothered him one bit. I have played singes many times in 100 degree heat but that is about all I can take and pull off 3 sets. Ice bags for everyone!

Woke up to several inches of new snow and it's still coming down. If I could blow some of this cold air down there to you, I surely would!

Don't get heat stroke down there! And I'll stay inside where it's warm today!

Well it is freezing and snowing here so it is hard to feel sorry for you.
In the winter we complain about the cold and in the summer we complain about the heat and in the spring and fall we complain that there is nothing to complain about because the weather is nice. Maybe we just enjoy complaining. That is why I joined the whiners thread.

I'm enjoying my 'cool change' of 30 degree days tho! (86F or so I think)

strange days indeed...

My sentiments exactly Fubarcdn!

I always laugh in the winter when I think to myself, "I will never b*tch & moan about it being hot ever again." And then, in the summer, " I will never b*tch & moan about it being cold ever again."

Maybe if I can just work on never b*tching & moaning ever again, I'd be ok!

actually not bitching at all, a couple of weeks of 43 Centigrade is by any Australian standards extreme and dangerous. I love the heat but when its 43 in the shade that means that in direct sunlight its well over 50 Centigrade more like 55. It has nothing to do with heat at that level more to do with danger.

Umm, sorry about the ramble. Back to normal service now!
