TOPIC: TLC = Tender-Loving-Caring or Tears-Laughter-Caring
Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.
By the Grace of my HP and people
like you in this fellowship, I havent
found it necessary to pick up a drink
of alcohol since 8-11-90.
For that and you I am truely grateful.
With all the coverage on TV with
the Inauguration and swearing in
of a new President I still find time
for some AA thoughts of the day.
The day would not be complete
for me if i didnt stay close to my
AA program and practice it in my
everyday life.
Practicing it means reading the
thought for today. Something
to ponder on and share my own
ESH on with others about it.
Coming into AA via the back seat
of a police car back in Aug 1990, little
did i realize then that my whole life
would change for the better. Maybe
not immediately but gradually over
the years as long as i worked my AA
program to the best of my ability.
I recall sitting in AA meetings at the
age of 30 and thinking i was the
only young person there amoungst
the elders. I even thought i couldnt
be like them because i didnt end up
in serious situations as them due to
drinking heavily.
However i listened and people so
kindly kept suggesting that i come
back. And of course dont drink.
So i did what was suggested to me
on a daily bases because of the
fear of being sent away to a half
way house and away from my
little family. Of course spending
28 days in rehab was long enough.
I didnt say much when i went to
meeting, but instead i listened and
absorbed with eagerness. I also
brought my little tray of baked
goodies to each meeting which
allowed me to stay a tad longer
to recieve some thank yous and
much appreciations.
I soon began to feel the connection
to these fine people and felt the
care and concern they had for me.
And that is where the TLC comes
into play.....
TENDER, LOVING, CARING
TEARS, LAUGHTER, CARING
What a joy it is to belong in a
place where you can feel all
of these emotions.
