Running / walking / fitness for sobriety.
I was told that shin slints occur due to uphill & downhill running (and especially the downhill part due to the toe being so far forward). I studied the logic and learned how uphill/downhill running stretches out the muscles in the shin.
I ran for a full year on a flat track, then avoided hills when I did get back out on the pavement.
This year I bought a $140.00 pair of Asics Gel Kayano 15 shoes, I'm running hills again, but going very slowly & tenderly on the downhill portion. So far so good.

Even though you have not ran far i would leave it a day before you go out again. your muscles will need a break.

Again due to work I could only exercise for 75 minutes. I planned to run 8k with a fast 5k at the start. I started out really fast and then at the 18 minute mark my hamstring went. Looks like I won't be running for a while. I might be able to manage the bike.
As I had extra time I managed 135 push ups and 72 chin ups.

13 at lunch... Cooler temps with a blustery headwind, in every direction!! Wished I'd brought my cool weather gear...
Fitting bikes... That can be such a nightmare. So many variables. If it's your back, think stem... Are you stretched out enough? Too much? In a riding position, looking down, your view of the front axle should be obscured by the handlebar.
This assumes of course you seat height is correct.
Move the seat back or forward on the rails to stretch out or tighten up. Or, consider a longer stem. Then of course there is the little matter of stem height....
I could go on but I'll spare you all..

Thursday used to be one of my rest days but recently it's been my easy gym day. I go to the gym, don't worry about times, numbers, muscles etc. I just build up a sweat and do what I feel like.
I had an easy hour on an aerobike. Then used various weights for my chest and shoulders. I did one chin up and no push ups as I couldn't stomach them today. It was a real relaxing, no pressure workout.
