Hi, I wake up at 5am to workout at the YMCA, then go to work, then when I get home, the craving is there. I should change my name to day1forever. I feel stronger, but I still drink too much. I am thinking about running again. I ran(or completed) a couple of 10ks(as a functioning alcoholic). I already checked how far I have to run until I complete 2 miles. Hopefully, as I exercise more, I will drink less. You have been a great influence to many on this forum.

eeerooo... sometimes when 'issues' arise in daily life I tell myself that if I can run 5 miles, even when I really don't want to, even when the weather is zero degrees, and even when sometimes I want to stop before the run is over, I can manage those things in life that don't require any physical effort.

It works for me. Today can I resist taking a drink and/or getting high?

Yes, because if I have the inner fortitude to always finish that last mile, I can do this.

Happy Easter.

uh oh, I just found this thread...

I've done two easy 3mile runs this week, and plan on running 4 miles tonight!

It's not exactly cold here any more... more like 70 - 80ish!

Rain, heavy (heavy) winds, 45F degrees, 5 mile run.

Running into the strong wind was difficult, pumping my feet hard and going practically nowhere, lol.

Good workout.

Stay clean & sober just for today!

Hey tommy thanks for being an inspiration.

I am doing Bloomsday in Spokane WA. It's a 12K. I am not a runner...but I can walk pretty fast. I have never done it before because of the hoards of people, but decided this year that it might help inspire me.

Thanks again!

Ran 5 miles today, changed all of the songs in my MP3 player so it was an especially good run.

I've been hitting the weights on the off days.

HI guys,
finished my inline marathon in March. I s&*cked but I finished. I am tired of being a big fat athlete alkie. Went to the doc today to get antabuse and she said no I need a specialist. Crap. Now I have to do more work. I signed up for two different tennis singles leagues this summer and skating so now I got lots of work to do. Maybe It will help keep me off the sauce.
