I did 20 minutes on the elliptical on Monday and I'm working on tae-bo on the weekends. I want to get up to 5-6 days a week.

I've been eating really well and have lost 10 pounds, I have about 60 to go.

Thank for the thread.

Still at thr gym 5 days a week. Five weeks straight now. I do 30 minutes cardio and then 1 hour weights. I usually follow that up with a 45-60 minute walk. I am trying to get my BMI down to 25, which is the top of the healthy category for men. Anything over is overweight but the scale is flawed.
Does anybody use BMI as one of the measures of healthiness?

Saturday, February 7, 2009... 5 mile run... 45F degreeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!

Wow, went over 100 miles total for 2009 today. Two runs so far in 2009 were in weather above freezing - one day was 34F and today is 45F. Felt good out there today.

Yee-haw!

5 mile run, total sweatfest.
Tommy, I admire you for running in the cold, it's not easy to get out into it! We had a coldsnap here in Fla...32 degrees. I bundled up and ran 3 miles in it! You're right...after awhile you start to sweat in your little "cocoon" and it feels GREAT!
Keep up the running and the great messages/inspiration!

Walked 4 miles today. My walking buddy was busy so i walked alone. I think I walk alot faster alone because I wasn't yapping the whole time. It was a balmy 33 degrees here.

Totally relate Tommy.

I'm training for a marathon in May and I really need to crack on with the training. I've done several 1/2 marathons in the past but I always used my drinking as the excuse to get out of doing anything longer. I never wanted to train for too long because I wanted to be back home and drinking.

I ran 5k yesterday for the first time in a few weeks and I ache so much. I know my fitness will come back though I just need to keep myself sober and healthy and it will fall into place.

Sunday morning, February 8, 2009... reporting in, just came from my 5 mile run.

32F degrees on this overcast Sunday morning, very relaxing run (if there is such a thing, lol).

My 'cocoon' was warm and comforting.

I walked 4 miles this morning. It was 22 degrees and so foggy you couldn't see anything in front of you. Got home with frost growing in my hair.

Tuesday, February 10th.

Every 100 miles or so I am going to give my legs some rest & recuperation.

Worked out in the weight room today, chest and abs.

Went to the gym today with a terrible cold. It was rough to focus.

I've been addicted to running and working out for almost 20 years now, so it's not something new with recovery. But it still makes me feel good, and it's a good outlet for addiction!

Not even I would attempt that! I used to do 10Ks, but now I just run or sometimes walk a couple miles to keep healthy.

Rain rain go away.... you made me cancel my run today.

(Cold is manageable.... but cold & soaked is unhealthy.)

I'll lift some weights later on I guess.

Thursday, February 12, 2009.... W-I-N-D-Y.... 34F degrees... 5 mile run.

Ha! The wind practically stood me up in one spot for an entire 60 seconds then suddenly disappeared and I almost fell face down. Kinda funny. When the wind was behind me I felt like I was flying.

Something different out there every day, never boring.

Saturday, February 14th... Happy Valentine's Day... <3

26F degrees, 5 mile run.

There's a country road I run down, and today it was beautifully 'whitewashed' with snow. The branches from trees on both sides of the road hang over the entire road, and they were all pure white with snow clinging to the branches. The road had a pure white surface today (no cars yet). It was like running into, and through, a white tunnel. Loved it!

Today is beautiful here - blue sky, sunny and just a smidgen below freezing.

It is the first day I will be going out for a really long walk, since around Christmas. I was already out once this morning and it felt amazing to have the sun on my face and to see everybody coming out of their winter hibernation.
