Day 3 of my new life!

I am about to go to work this morning and embark on the third day of my sobriety. Yesterday was ok until about 3pm when I starting thinking of what I would do when I got off work. This always included drinking at least 10 beers. I called my fiancee' and suggested we had Taco night. I stopped by and rented a movie (Eagle Eye Blu-Ray) it was really pretty good. We made tacos and watched a movie. Once I was home and my time was occupied I didn't think of drinking. It was a good night. I have found that having lots of different beverages in the fridge helps as well. In the past two days I have drunk 1/2 a gallon of sweet tea. That can't be good for my waistline, but it's really good for my addiction. I feel good this morning and am ready to take on the day. Good luck to my fellow alcoholics and wish me luck as well. Off to work, with a positive attitude!

I am in my first week too and I also had a good day yesterday. With the support of your loving girlfriend you will make it. The video store will love. The beer store not so much. Keep the faith and perservere.

Congrats on day 3! I completely relate to what you said about 3:00 and wondering what you're gonna do. 3-4 p.m. is my scary time zone when I would begin my journey into stupidity, I mean drinking. I went grocery shopping (that was scary too getting past the booze isle) and stocked up on different beverages. I feel I need to have something to drink constantly. I did throw away the glasses I would normally use to drink wine from, I knew they would be a trigger. Keep up the good work

Best of luck Tate8. This is an awesome forum...everyone is so kind and helpful! I am also a binger...weekends and other wise. I can go without for days, even a week or 2... then...BINGE....
I haven't yet been able to get a handle on things.
I'm joining a gym this week and am currently interviewing personal trainers, so hopefully that will keep me on a good path.

Way to go Tate8 - I am on day 3 also. Taco night sounds like a great remedy. I am finding that it really helps not to get too hungry - I think I used to equate hunger with stress with get some wine and a snack to cure the hunger.. not a good cycle.

Thanks for the story of your night..
