Made thru a partying weekend w/o drinking!!!
I'm on day 12 and made it through my first major hurdle. I survived being around people drinking while tailgating at a football game, attending the game and after the game. Gosh, it feels so good! I know I could not have done it without "SoberRecovery." I read everyday for the last 10 days and it gave me the strength to "just say no!" Thanks to everyone for participating on this website. Your words have inspired me and given me the tools I need mentally not to drink!!!! I feel FABULOUS!!!:ghug

Congrats. That is huge for a weekend binger. You must feel proud and your confidence level must be soaring. Enjoy the feeling and keep up the good work. I imagine the first time around a party scene is real tough and you toughed it out.
Thats what I am talkin about!---Thats called will power everyone.
I have been to a tailgate party---you drink, then you drink, and then some more drinking.
Weekendbinger---you have WILL POWER!
keep that will power strong and you will stay sober.

Great work weekendbinger! You did fantastic being mentally strong! It's hard to be out in public all around the drinking but once you get past all of it you realize your not really missing anything and still having fun! Good job!

Thanks for your reply. Like you, I can't believe I had fun w/o drinking. That was my biggest fear....that I would be bored. I enjoyed taking it ALL in, watching the other drunks, being my crazy self but in control...and actually had FUN!!! Congrats on your day 12....hope it's 13 today!!!

Thanks for your uplifting reply! I'm going to have to face many of these same type of situations because lots of my friends drink. I will remember your words...to help keep me "strong!" Thank you, thank you.
