Day 6
Hi everyone
Thanks for your kind words yesterday.
I've nailed day 6 and am on day 7 now! It will soon be a whole week without drinking.
The singing group went well yesterday. It went for 2 hours and I was amazed how difficult it was to concentrate for that long. I guess it will get easier with practice.
I'm feeling pretty positive today but I have a difficult situation to face tonight. We're having some friends over for dinner and they drink heaps. Everyone including my husband will be plastered by the end of the evening.
Does anyone have advice about how to get through tonight without feeling bad or succumbing to temptation?
I'm feeling strong but this is going to be a BIG challenge and I'd appreciate any strategies you coudl suggest.
Thanks
BB

Byron,
Congrats on your sober time! When I was in the first few months of sobriety, I don't know if I could have handled such a gathering. You might keep the computer on in another room and come here quickly if the temptation gets to be too much.
Love,
Lenina

does your husband know that you are trying to stay sober? perhaps he can support you, if he does?
lenina makes a great point - come here and post if it gets too tough.
support to you. think of your new friends here tonight...k
