24 days
Finally got clean and sober when I left for The Virgin Islands. I have 24 days today. One day at a time. Gotta say, if a guy can stay clean and sober there he can do it anywhere. Now the insomnia is kicking in. I wake in the middle of the night and cant go back to sleep.

Congrats Mike, I gotta say you were a big inspiration to me when i first came here , although our drug of choice may have been different we were the same creatures of habit.. I hate to see you struggling man, grasp the recovery i once saw in you and run, 24 day's, thats a real good start. Find a meeting on the islands, trust me they have them.

Just kidding...congratulations Mike, and Happy New Year! You were the first person I "met" when I signed on here in July, and your attitude helped me out. Good to hear you are doing well.
I'm heading into 2009 with a positive and optimistic attitude...I just had to cancel my newspaper subscriptions and stop watching the news to get there!

Mike, we ended up being able to get a good deal on three used Yamaha Raptors ( we are eventually going to need a small fourth one for our youngest son) Our neice came to live with us a few weeks before Christmas because of her alcoholic dad, so we decided that it was worth it to make Christmas extra special for all the kids, so we went ahead and got them. ( I am working extra hours to pay for them and I work outside, so sometimes I wonder if we shouldn't have taken a vacation down your way instead! LOL) The kids are in hog heaven - mud covered from head to toe! Thanks again!

Congrats, Happy New Year and best wishes for you Mike. You'll get past the insomnia, it's just one of those stages we have to deal with I guess. I love the Virgin Islands and the Caribbean in general, btw.
