new guy- day 1 Thursday
My two dogs are a big reason for me to stay sober. One is diabetic and has strict feeding and insulin injection schedules, and when I was drinking I'd often screw up his schedule. Now I'm a better mom to my dogs and they are healthier for it. So that's a HUGE incentive for me to stay sober.
What sort of dogs do you have? Specific breeds? Rescues? I have a beagirl and a shiba, both older dogs. I get a lot of emotional strength from my dogs and their boundless love for me. I'd be a saint if I could even be half the person my dogs think I am!

Welcome dedubya. SR helped me get sober almost one year ago - at first I just read and cried in my beer, but finally all the wisdom hit home and I went for it. This has been my first sober holiday season in many years. I'm still getting used to living without my anesthesia, but I know I can never go back to where I was - I won't make it out alive. Keep us posted as to your progress - we care and will be happy to help you on your journey. Love, Joanie
thanks for all of the support folks. i am excited! Realizing that feeling may get a little more intense...
