Please Help With Information
 

My son's ex, the mother of his 2 sons has become addicted to heroin. Her mother passed away when she was 18 & her father is a heroin addict, so she has no support. My son is very upset cuz she is the mother of his children. She has nothing, no insurance, job, or money. She told my son if he could find a 90 day in patient rehab that would take her she would go.
How can I help find a place that would take her?

You can check with the Salvation Army in your area.

They offer free rehab programs for addicts.

I'm so sorry that you're dealing with this situation. I don't know how to direct you from here, but please post this on the substance abuse forum so that more people can possibly give you some direction. You might get some response here, but you'll get more there.

you might try contacting the local county mental health office..they may have some ideas as well

Over the long haul..knowing that there are people who support you going to treatment is a help to the addict.

Could she get some type of referral from a doctor in the ER? Not sure... thanks for reaching out for her.

Thank you all. You don't know what has been done for her in the past. I called a place located not far from my house, they told me my son should tell her to go to the Dept of Social Services & apply for Medicaid. If she is refused, she has to get a letter of Denial, if she is approved then she will have the card. After doing that she has to call the place for an appointment & either way they would take her into in-patient rehab. I told my son next time she calls to give her the information. Then it is up to her to follow through.
