My insides are shaking.

My outsides, too

I started working night shifts this week... it's been a hard adjustment. My family and my fiance are many states away. On Christmas eve, I came back from work in the morning and opened a letter from my landlord telling me that she is losing possession of the house I live in. I need to find alternate housing "in the very near future".

And I have a stomach bug I have been unable to shake this week... I am new in my job and haven't felt able to call in sick. I have been sober from the get-go and am frightened of looking irresponsible/unreliable, to anyone.

I'm scared and lonely. I can't sleep although my body is screaming for it.

Anyone out there?

Hey K

Believe me I've faced very similar things - and you'll make it Get over the stomach bug, best you can, find out what the 'near future' actually means, and start looking on the net and at work on bulletin boards and stuff for places to live. Just stay in the day - don't run ahead, You're strong and capable - you'll do this

First take some slow deep breathes. Then take a few more.

I just finished that stomach bug so I know exactly how you are feeling physically. Try some warm flat 7-up or coke, just teeny sips. Does seem to help 'settle' that stomach. Later, if stomach calms down, try a bit of tepid tea and a little toast.

Try and rest, sometimes rest is the only thing as it passes through our system.

I am sure, when you are feeling a bit better, you will work out the 'living' situation and be able to find another place.

In the meantime I will send prayers to Connecticut.

Please know that there are folks here that do care. I see you are still on line and it is after 2am your time. I hope you can get some rest shortly.

Love and hugs,

Hey SS - I just saw your post and I sure hope you feeling better today. I hope you are getting through as Dee said, by "staying in the day" and breaking things down. Keep us posted when you feel better. Prayers are going out for ya from Northern New Mexico AND from Laurie's neck of the woods.

Hi honey,

I hope you're getting some much-needed rest right now. I also hope that Friday is a better day for you, physically and mentally. Dee spoke some wise words when he said to "stay in the day".

Hugs from me!

I've been learning how to live in the moment and not project into the future. I have to say it works and life is much smoother and happier.

Hope your feeling better soon

Hello, SS. Even if you can't get any sleep, at least try to rest. Take care of yourself when you're not at work.

Life's thrown you one hell of a curve ball. Do your best to stay in today and work thru this one thing at a time. Start by getting well and making your health your priority for now. THen network to find housing. Ask around. Put up a notice at work. Look in the paper. Put an ad in the paper. Don't know if you believe in prayer, but it can't hurt.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Take good care of yourself, SS, and let your body heal first.

Turn on your back and float. The housing situation will resolve.

Big hugs to you.

((((((ss))))))))))

I am in Connecticut, and am sending you local prayers for getting well and feeling the ground beneath your feet real soon.

As far as the eviction due to owner losing property is concerned, I heard on the radio just last week that the CT atty general or Gov Rell has set up some board/committee/funding to protect renters like you. I cannot recall the name of the committee but if you need more help, I will be happy to research it online. Just pm me if you need that.

But for now, lets get over the stomach bug. I had it at Thanksgiving. It WILL pass.

I agree w/ what miss communicat said about renters rights. I went through some rent stuff years ago and contacted a Tenants Rights association of sorts. They often have free legal help for things you need (if you do). There may be a firm 30 days or something that you're protected by, instead of an ominous "very near future".

Feel better, we're all thinking good thoughts for you I hope you got some rest.

Thanks everybody!!!!!

I slept, and oh my lord, everything is clearer. Amazing. Time to do the next right thing Hit google (to find out about that new CT law!), and craigslist.

For today, I have my sobriety, and my roof. And a JOB! *blows a kiss* and SR. I missed this place so much.
