To all newbies
I want to welcome you to the journey of recovery
Today I am celebrating 23 years on this journey. I can tell you htat getting clean and sober just before the holidays is not easy..However it can be done.. I am proof of that.. When the going gets tougfh for you as some days will, reach out to someone on this journey and share what is going on..While sharing the tough stuff dig a little deeper for the willingness to have a life free from the shackels of the disease..
As you dig for that willingness look honestly at the chaos the disease brought into your life. Honestly look at it...Then look around at the folks that have been where you are but are now leading a life of happiness and joy.. We want ot share that happiness and joy with you.. We have faith in you that you too can be on this broad highway leading happy useful lifes..Join hands with us, lean on us, use us.. We want so much to give you what was so freely given to us. You can do this... You really can!! You are not alone...we walk, trudge, and dance together on this journey. We laugh together, we pray together , and we have fun together.

Fluttering~ Thank you so much for this post. As I reach the day where I relapsed last time I'm starting the rationalizations and the need/want to bury my feelings in bottles of wine. I won't do it. Reading this gives me that much more resolve.
