Hi, I'm Jimmy, and have been sober for exactly one week today!

Booze-free, drug-free, and gambling-free for the first time in a long time!!!! I'm really enjoying my sobriety thus far, wish I would've found my bottom sooner, but it is what is....god bless everyone, happy holidays!

Thanks to all for the warm welcome! I really appreciate it....well basically my story is one that started when I was 13 growing up in an alcoholic family (both my father and sister are alcoholics). I started drinking, which led to drugs shortly after, and ultimately led to very bad life decisions such as gambling with borrowed money. I finally realized I had to get a hold on my life when I lost my home earlier this year to foreclosure and when all of my possessions had been pawned to feed my addictions. I am thankful though for a fresh start in life, I feel like I have a clean slate, and am studying hard every day to go back to school to better my life. Sometimes I wish I had reached my bottom sooner, but then I try to remember that I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
