Non-alcholic wines / beers
Non-alcholic wines / beers
Just wanted to know your thoughts on this? Avoid like the plague or has it worked for you?
Ive been advised to steer clear as it is romantising my association with alcohol and not breaking my habit with it.
Just wondered your thoughts.
We having sunday lunch normally I would crack open a bottle of wine.... so the thought crossed my mind a non alcoholic bottle instead. Not entirely sure thats a good idea.

I think you were advised well.
Drinking NA beer I had all of my old beer drinking rituals and behaviours...but no buzz...
Man, I missed that buzz...
the inevitable happened.
There's any number of drinks you could have that don't remind you of alcohol blueberry

Hi.
As you probably know we can’t tolerate much if any alcohol. Non alcohol whatever has about 1% alcohol. I’ve known several people eventually drinking about a case a day of non alcohol beer.
Along with this is the fact of how much alcohol is left if we cook with it, far too much!
BE WELL

The study also revealed that alcohol content diminishes with cooking time. After being added to food that then is baked or simmered for 15 minutes, 40 percent of the alcohol will be retained. After cooking for an hour, only about 25 percent will remain, but even after 2.5 hours of cooking, five percent of the alcohol will still be there. Of course, the amount of alcohol in an individual serving will be quite low.
People need to avoid alcohol for various reasons, such as to guard against alcoholic relapse, to protect a fetus, or to avoid adverse reactions that might be brought on by certain medications. The best bet for such people would be to ask if a particular dish is cooked with wine or spirits before ordering in a restaurant. If you're a dinner guest, you could let the host or hostess know in advance that you're avoiding alcohol in food as well as drink.

I bought non-alcoholic wine for a fancy dinner a couple of months ago. What was interesting was the difference in reaction between me and my husband. He's the type of person who will have one glass of wine occasionally. He said, "it tastes just like wine." I thought it tasted awful since it was "flat" without the alcohol. Kinda like drinking a flat soft drink.

Definitely not! Other stuff tastes better anyway.
Avoid all triggers if possible. I can't even use non-alcohol versions of NyQuil because it is too reminiscent of taking a shot of alcohol. I don't use any medicine that makes me sleepy, etc.
Better to just play it safe!!
