newbie

Hi,
have joined the forum today. I have an approx ten year history of weekend binger drinking - yet am totally able to retain control and abstain during the week. I have posted an account of my own story on the Alcoholism page. My drinking hit a new level this past weekend, which was something of a turning point for me.
I'm impressed with the good array of advice on this forum and its friendly nature.

Welcome to SR Gary. Glad you are here. I did the weekend binging in my college years. It wasn't good. I'll have to read your other post. Again, welcome and I look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome Gary and keep posting. I am a newbie too - 30 days complete (Whee). I can tell you that for me after about 2 weeks I could look back at what alcohol was doing to me (and I could feel what alcohol was doing to me) and see it in a way I could never see it with a few days clean. It must get into your system in a big way and really affected my judgment - the webs in the brain are starting to clear up and there is something different there than I realized.

Great that you are here!

Hey Gary!

Welcome to SR and the forum of "newbies" right there with ya!

I'll have to check out your story later, but just wanted to say "hi" and am glad you are here! I'm a binger too, however, through alcohols progression in my life I couldn't cut if off after Fri thru Sun. I became dependent on it 24/7. Thank God you haven't reached that place, and if you truly give it up and quit --- you'll never have to.

This is a great place to let your hair down and get stuff out! We relate and are related to so it's just one big happy family here (okay, maybe a little too dramatic).

Hope to hear more about you! Keep up the posts and reading and reaching!

Hugs xoxox,
Nicki
