I have a seriuos addiction to prescription drugs..It is ruining my life...At almost 41 years old , with a beautiful fiance,3 great kids and a very good job..And in jeopardy of losing it all...I have heard of several different programs to wean off this stuff..I am talking about codiene, morphine, demerol, ridilun and anything else i can get a hold of..

Any help or suggestions, someone can give me...

Many people have found that NA meetings are a good place to find contacts for detox in the area you live in.

My insurance was a great resource.

HI Plum and welcome to SR.

(feels kinda awkward, calling a guy 'plum'...maybe PC?)

There's a wealth of information here, and people to hang out and help.
You might want to start by checking out the stickies at the top of the Substance Abuse Forum. They Have programs and resources you will want to be informed about, and ongoing threads where we try to support each other as we recover.

I've been watching a good many programs on tv about a rise in prescription drug abuse.
Not like it's news to an addict - just news ... to everyone else, apparently.

I hope you'll take time to check out those stickies.
Others will be along shortly to offer their experience, strength and hope to you as well.

You have been gifted the opportunity to change and I hope you take it.

Welcome!

Seek help... from here, in NA meetings, from doctors, wherever.

The only question is will YOU seek help and get better BEFORE you lose everything, or afterwards?

The choice is YOURS.

Keep coming back. ;)
