Hi Jamie Though the next few days may suck (or not!), look at the bright side: you've chosen the very best course of action. Let the poison go, and embrace yourself instead.

Post a lot, read a lot. It's nice to have you

I would suggest to take a suggestion because for me I found that life is easier when I do! I would strongly suggest a sponser and start on step 1 as the step of AA have turn my life around esppecially after step 5!
Before I could get there I had to understand I was powerless and until I did that I continued to drink.....also I konw that today if I drink then that drink or drug is my higher power and there is something I don't like in myself

Hi jamie. So glad you are here. You picked up last night, BUT you got up realised how bad it is and got back on the sober wagon. Shows you have desire to stop the insanity. I did relapse a few times since my rehab....I found my relapses got worse and worse each time...The last one scared me so much I am making my sobriety my world... I will do anything to stay sober and I am..this forum and AA , this is what is keeping me above water. I know it feels horrible when we fall and have to get up and start over, but we can do it . If you didn't go to AA before I sugest you do, it does work if you work it. Stay strong, and keep posting.

Hi Jamie,

Alcoholism is a relentless disease.

But, there is always hope. I`m glad you`re here!

what she said

Hi Jamie

I'm in the same place, back to day one and need to get on the right track; today is a new day for us, let's make the most of it by not picking up and supporting each other as we strive for soberity one day at a time

Patty

Welcome back jamie!

For myself - I couldn't worry about the why I did something ... until I wasn't doing it any more. It's easier that way.

After ten months sober I just recently slipped, At first I was mad at myself but later I learned that I really hate drinking and that it did nothing to stop the emotional pain I was trying to stop. It was a really important piece to my true recovery. Maybe you could find something positive about this slip.

Beating yourself up will gain you nothing look ahead and take it one day at a time
