Little Furry Prayer Request
 

My female cat was peeing blood tonight when I got home from work. She's been acting really tired and drinking a lot of water for the past few days and now is in and out of the litter box every couple of minutes and stopping to pee a few drops on the carpet in between. I got her a vet appointment for a couple hours from now. Please say a prayer that my little furball will be okay and that they can give her something to make her feel better.

I will say a prayer for you and your fur ball, my little fur ball gets that too. Last time was a UTI. So me and mine will think of you, and yours!!!! please let us know how she does at the vet.

Sending prayers for you and your furball:) It does sound like a UTI, which is fairly common in cats (I have 3) but I know how scary it is. Keep us posted.

Uti & Cystitis are the same thing, right? My cats have had Cystitis & it was cleared up with meds. in about 3 days or so. The male cat had a more complicated problem, but it was cleared up too eventually.

Thanks you guys. I'm back from the vet... apparently she does have an infection (lots of white blood cells in the urine). I found out she has a thick bladder wall which could be retaining the bacteria even during antibiotics and then growing back and causing the infections to re-occur. So, we're trying a new antibiotic, some pain medication, and some natural remedy (which I haven't quite figured out yet) to see if it helps. I just hope this is the end of the drama. :(

Anyway, happy to have this day over and hoping for a peaceful tomorrow!

OH, and I wanted to clarify... cystitis is a non-infectious inflammation of the bladder, and a UTI is an actual bacterial infection. Both cause about the same behavior. :)
