THere IS a God, and He made sure my new modem arrived today as He saw what a mess I was without my connection. I sent FW that pm yesterday from daughter's laptop. I was sure I'd have to wait til tomorrow but God must know someone at UPS and hurried up my delivery!!

I was so desperate yesterday all day, and so agitated over my modem dying on me that I read Caroline Knapp's book Drinking; A Love Story from cover to cover. Great book too. I had my appt with my alcohol counselor today and gave her a bit of worry when I started our session saying I was in the throes of an unbearable withdrawal... from the internet! I told her about today's anniversary and that I had the strong conviction that I'd finally 'turned the corner' on my active alcoholism and was now firmly rooted in sober living - and much happier that way.

I'm proof that even the most diehard alcoholic can get and stay sober, if they want to badly enough. I had given up hope, but here I am, happily sober and determined to stay that way one day at a time.

Thanks to all here who encouraged and supported me and never gave up on me, tho I felt I'd given up on myself. I'm grateful I didn't leave before the miracle happened! My kids are still aggravating the hell out of me, but I'm dealing with it sober!

I love you all very much!

My connection is DSL, whatever that means, and not dial up. It's quick enough to suit me, I'm just happy it's working again.
