This is really funny when one considers that "fanny" means "bottom" in US, but something quite different in Australia.
Found that out the hard way when I told an Aussie tourist she had forgotten her fanny pack. My cheek still stings!

I would never make that mistake, it means something similar over here too - in fact, I've been called a fanny many a times. Any people from Scotland who read this will laugh, as they know what I mean by that.
OMG - I don't think I have ever laughed as hard reading anything on SR before. Kevin and the other contributors to this thread - you're a hoot.
Made me feel good after posting my S.R.W.A.T thread.

Monday morning here and as yet no randy local animals on under or around the house, never mind plenty of time yet.
However, I did have the most amazing nite last nite....

Now your not gonna belive this especially BMUS, but yesterday I went out for a long slow run and was running down this long straight gravel road (5km) no one around when an echinda wandered across teh road in fron tof me, I don't see many as they are shy so it was cool. Later on the way back the echinda crossed the road again in front of me, which is amazing.
BMUS no sex involved here, although I did glance back and see old fred the echnida was on top of something, now was that....

Wow, look at them prickles!! I have this vision of you living in the middle of the outback and your nearest neighbour being 20 miles away!
I'm from South Africa originally, although been in England about 16 years. I was once running in the hills in Cape Town and this big fat puff adder was lying across the path in front of me. They are the only snakes I know that don't "run" away when they see a human. I just froze, I was so scared. I eventually had to jump over it as high as I could, because it started reversing towards me. They are the fastest striking snake in SA and I think the one people get bitten by the most, because they always getting trodden on.
In England, all I come across are baby hedgehogs and baby rabbits, it's so much nicer!! It is a land of benign wildlife!!

we have opposums.....I love them....haven't seen them in a few years, but there was a momma that lived in our garage for a while. I grew up thinking they were dirty and oily...but this one sure wasn't...it was the cutes thing to see momma with her young ones on her back...they were a kinda light gray/white and all fluffy and clean...little puff balls.
I think the dogs scared her away though

What's happening with the pouched furries, nogard? My hedgehog is hibernating at the moment. Usually it gets into one of the empty rabbit hutches and snuggles up in the hay for the winter.
I wish I could hibernate. It would be the perfect life. Eat like a pig all summer and get really fat. Go to sleep for the cold damp winter and wake up all slim again!

Was sitting here reading when I heard a huge grunting noise under the house (the house is on stilts) I rushed out to find two huge Kangaroos boxing each other, I chased them off and laughed as the dogs barked at them and begged to be let loose, it seems we all get edgy at times (its mating time here, at least for the roos )
