Arrow Update on ER visit!

Hi Friends, :ghug3

Quick update. Then I'm going back to rest. (And drink lots of water and cranberry juice!)

This is brief because I am really sick right now but I wanted to give you the news.

I was right- I did have another kidney infection and I just started antibiotics. They have a chance to work this time because I am sober.

The goods news is this: While I was at the ER, I talked to the doctor about everything I have been experiencing lately and the doctor did a complete work up and did a bunch of tests on me. Everything came back normal! I was so surprised because I did massive amounts of long term drinking and I was sure I messed myself up. But I am healthy. I am sure that my liver is thanking me right now for climbing out of the bottle and rejoining life.

It is such a blessing doing stuff to care for my health rather than destroy it.

I am grateful to be sober today.

Hey Hope, that's great. I'm glad you went to the hospital. Did you ask for charity care or a discount so you won't be paying out the a$$ later? I know you're probably not worried about that at the moment. You can smack me for being nosy.

Get better soon. :ghug

Hope,

That is great news and I'm glad that you've gotten the antibiotics you need.

That's really good news Hope!

You might want to add Yogurt to your daily food
I have a cup for breakfast after Prevention Magazine
suggested it helped with kidney problems.
I've done it for years along with Cranberry/Apple juice
and i've had no kidney problems at all.

Yogurt (with live culture) is good when you're taking antibiotics. Glad you're on the meds you need to get healthy and really glad the tests turned out good for you! :ghug3

Hi Hope! Thanks for the update, I've been wondering what happened. That's great that the tests came out well.

I agree with Least - yogurt with probiotics (or acidophilus pills) is great with antibiotics. That way you won't get the stomach upset and potential yeast infection (yuck!).

I have to put yogurt and more cranberry juice on my next grocery list. I was supposed to go grocery shopping today because I'm almost out of food but I still feel so weak. Hopefully tomorrow

I am extremely lucky healthwise - I was doing cold-water extractions to get the codeine separated from the acetemenophene in my pills - 25 at a time. Luckily the process is not easy to screw up as 8G+ of acetemenophene in liquid form is probably enough to do some hepatic harm.
