Thank you all for the support. I have learned a lot from the people on this forum and my friends at AA. I’m still learning how to deal with my disease.

With all of its problems, this has been the best 30 days I can remember in a very long time. Having to deal with the messes I’ve created, the occasional head fog and dry drunks can’t diminish that.

I’ve accepted the fact that I have a progressive disease and that I have progressed to the point of no return. I am an incurable alcoholic. I have no illusions about it. Up until a month ago, I had been a non-stop drunk for longer than the majority of people visiting this forum have been alive. I’m new to recovery. I know that I can never drink again. I can’t even think about drinking again. Because that is what alcoholics that are about to drink do.

Feeling grateful,

Ed
