Congratulations on your achievement Kevin, that's amazing and I'll bet it feels great.
Shoot I wish I could run 10 feet! Years of abuse on construction sites and one knee surgerie later, I'm grateful to be able to walk and hike as much as I please. Guess that'll have to be good enough!

Kevin,
This is an inspiration to me.
I am just getting back into running and this is a great story of where you came from and where you are now. You have always been an inspiration to me!
I'm glad you are here sharing your success with us! I am proud of you!

wow thanks for your support
I am completely recovered (from the run that is) and even had a little run yesterday (2km) and will run today.
Next is either Trekking from Katmandhu to Everest Base Camp if I can afford it (just lost my job, 500 people sacked!) and then to Boston or LA to run in a Marathon there.
Kevin

Glad your leg is 100% now!
It is hard to get a sense of a fellow's tone in a post on the internet, but I think your tone is very casual about having just been sacked. And I want my tone to be awe if this is true.
You sound as though you are taking the job loss in stride. If so, your accomplishments over the last 3 years have indeed been great!
I'm still early in my sobriety and my reactions are still like this:
But I'm making progress thanks to terrific role models like you!
