I'm scared for my son

Today is my son’s birthday, and other than knowing he has juvenile arthritis, we are still waiting for answers. We saw the Rheumatoid Doctor on Friday at Children’s Hospital. He asked that I call this morning at 10:00 am for the results, so I did; now I have waited and waited …… Now it is 6pm and still no call.
I know you all probably dread seeing a post coming from me related to these type issues. But I need you all. I feel like I’m losing it literally. It’s hard to concentrate, I am incredibly depressed. As my daughter was getting ready to go to homecoming Saturday, my son didn’t have the strength to go. He is still not able to attend a whole school day. WHY WHY WHY Lord.
And I have people calling me all day for Cam’s results and it is driving me mad. Finally I have told them that I will call them when I get some answers and to quit calling me.
It is so hard to wait. Doctors have been poking needles in me running tests and they still don’t know what is wrong with me other than IBS and Fibromyalgia. I am so afraid the same thing is going to happen to Cam.
The doctor just called and Cameron has Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. They are still waiting for a test to come back that would indicate that he has some form of arthritis the only boys around his age get.
Please pray for my dear son…

Said a prayer for your son and your family.

I know it is hard to see a child go through problems. I remember when my son was sent to prison. It would of been better for me if they would of taken me instead.

When my son was 3 he started having sezures. Three kinds going at once. Stayed over a month in the hospital doing test. This went on for a few years. And the sezures stopped, they never found out why this happened. But was so grateful that it stopped.

I know how you feel. Different medical problem but the same concern.

Not a good ending to a rotten day. I got Cam on of those dairy queen cakes for his 16th birthday. He blew out the candles, didn't eat any cake, and went to bed.
This has got to be so hard on him. My heart breaks.

Hi Suzette,

I am so sorry for you and your family.

But, now you know what is happening with your son, hopefully there are things that can be done. I know very little about Juvenille Rheumatoid Arthritis. Has the dr given you any advice as to what you can do to treat this disease?

Toomutch 09-29-2008 07:37 PM

Anna,
He is on a strong anti inflamitory now that the doc. prescribed. For now all we can do is pray that he keeps his strength up to attend his core classes and pray.

First of all, I absolutely do not dread seeing any post of yours, especially about Cam. We are all concerned about him, too.

I'm so sorry you are both dealing with these health issues, and sending healing thoughts.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy
