Day 4 sober: Multiple withdrawal symptoms
It's been 4 days now and I've experienced a few things that had been troubling me. I looked up alcohol withdrawal symptoms and sure enough they popped right out on the screen at me.
Depression
Fatigue
Bad Dreams (Nightmares)
Difficulty thinking clearly
Involuntary Eyelid Movement
The last one struck a chord as I've experienced this for a while now and never tied it to stopping and starting drinking.
Any suggestions to help combat some of these.
It is a long, hard road ahead.

NYM,
It's way too early to say I've stopped since I've gone down that path many times before.
To be honest, I did not drink every day but when I did it would usually be between 20-30 drinks or until I blacked out.

Good job on the four days. Everyone experiences withdrawal symptoms differently, but it can be serious. Have you spoke with your doctor? I don't know about the eye thing, but I had the other symptoms you mentioned and they got better with time.
Congrats on your 4 days!
I would suggest that you get checked out by a physician. Never a bad idea when you are going through withdrawals.
Also, keep your eye on the prize. Each day gets easier to deal with.
Do you have any sort of plan to maintain your sobriety?

I do realize it gets easier with time, as well as am realistic with the urges that will creep back and tempt me.
I do not have an exact plan yet, but am going to speak with others that have gone this route and try and make a specific personalized plan that is best for me.
I do know that moderation is not an option and some relationships or mine will take a hit and have informed others of this. For example, two of my very good friends are bartenders at a local bar which I would frequent oftentimes during sober periods simply for breakfast or lunch and not necessarily drinks. Another friend involves drinking in everything we do when we go out and I have expressed that I would prefer not to be around a drinking environment.
I am open to any recommendations and am not going to make my personal pride an issue anymore.
