Driving up to see college-kid-daughter today. Taking other daughter along so she can visit too, and she can be navigator while I drive. I wouldn't be able to do this if I were still drinking. I'd be too hungover or shaky to drive almost two hours. Really glad I'm able to do things today that I haven't been able to do for the last 18 months while I was a practicing alcoholic. Sobriety is so much more fun than drinking all day, every day.

got an early birthday present this morning - mr k ordered ticks to see david byrne in oct. i'm celebrating - making peanut butter cookies and listening to t heads 77.

i hope my neighbors are up. i have all the windows open and it's rather loud.



have not heard a peep from daughter this week and that is troubling. mr k called the gma yesterday and gma says she's ok but she's not sure about still sober. we have each left her messages. so ball in her court i guess. i'm planning a trip down to where she is later in month. i do miss her. sigh. a mom's life sux ax sometimes.

Nice. They look like crabs to be honest.

My braised steak was bloody lovely for tea. I didn't even need to use a full bottle of red wine this time. I fully trust myself not do drink the other half.

The treacle/golden syrup sponge is only 20 minutes away from finishing as well. I may even take a picture this time.
